Eduardo Alba

Eduardo Alba holds a PhD in Mathematical Sciences from the Institute of Cybernetics, Mathematics and Physics (Cuba) and a Master’s degree in Physical and Mathematical Sciences from the National University of Kharkiv (Ukraine). He is Dean of the College of Sciences and Engineering at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador). His research focuses on Testor Theory, developing new algorithms and exploring connections with Hypergraph Theory. He also works on extensions and applications of this theory in variable selection and classification in pattern recognition problems. He leads research projects and undergraduate theses. He is co-author of publications in scientific journals. He was Vice President of the Ecuadorian Mathematical Society (2010-2013). For 30 years, he has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at universities and research institutes in Cuba, Mexico, and Ecuador. He has been an organizer and judge in national and international mathematical competitions.
